When watching a battle, you might wonder, “Why is this happening?”. This page aims to give a basic understanding of logic.

Turns

The battler runs automatically but is structured in turns. Each turn consists of all active characters taking one action based on their initiative stat, which determines the order in which they act. Characters with higher initiative will attack earlier in the turn, allowing for strategic advantages such as eliminating threats before they can act.

Targeting

Targeting follows a base logic but can be overridden by class-specific behavior or special abilities.

Two more factors influence targeting

  1. The Class
  2. Passive Abilities

1. Class-Specific Targeting

Targeting in combat follows a default system, but each class can override this with its own specific logic.

Warborn and Behemoth classes always prioritize attacking the character in front. Rangers have a 75% chance to target the back character if available; if not, they shift focus to the middle with the same probability, and finally to the front if no other options remain. Alchemists operate similarly but prioritize the middle position first. Sand Shapers use a 50/50 approach, randomly deciding between mid and back targets, falling back to the front if neither is available. Berserkers, in contrast, completely disregard positioning and select a random target from the enemy team.

Class Priority Targeting Logic
Warborn Front Character
Behemoth Front Character
Ranger 75% Back → Mid → Front
Alchemist 75% Mid → Front
Sand Shaper 50% Mid or Back → Front
Berserker Random
